Collapsed Baltimore bridge would take three to five years to rebuild: Expert
The destroyed Baltimore bridge will take at least three to five years to be rebuilt, given the scale of the damage, Professor Jean-Paul Rodrigue, who specialises in maritime business administration at Texas A&M University at Galveston, tells CNA’s Asia First. The Francis Scott Key Bridge, which opened in 1977, had collapsed on Tuesday (Mar 26) after being struck by Singapore-flagged container ship Dali. The rebuild could be sped up if there is less bureaucratic red tape and is perceived as a project of national significance, says Prof Rodrigue.
