雙語閱讀能讓你感悟到單詞的更多涵義和用法。
初級英語學習者在記單詞的時候，只記住了單詞所對應的某個漢字或漢語詞語。在雙語閱讀過程中，通過特定語境和英漢對照，能感悟到某個單詞原來還有這個意思、還能這麼用。
例1：sun
原來知道的意思：太陽
現在看到的例子：They sit in the sun and laugh.他們坐在陽光里大笑。
感悟出新的意思：陽光
例2：stay
原來知道的意思：逗留；保持
現在看到的例子：But Wendy stays with Peter. 但溫迪和彼得呆在一起。
感悟出「逗留」可以換個詞：呆
例3：leave
原來知道的意思：離開
現在看到的例子：Let's leave her on this rock.讓我們把她留在這塊石頭上。
感悟出新的意思：把……留(在某處)

這些單詞的新意思，如果沒有翻譯，自己是不容易想出來的。閱讀的時候，就有種隔靴搔癢的感覺。藉助翻譯，不靠老師教，自己能感悟出來，不僅印象深刻，而且積累足夠的經驗了，以後做純英文閱讀碰到生詞時，也更能猜出生詞的意思。

One summer evening Peter, Wendy, John, Michael and the Lost Boys go to the Mermaid's Lagoon.

Beautiful mermaids live here and they are Peter's friends.
美麗的美人魚住在這裡，他們是彼得的朋友。
They swim and play in the blue lagoon.
他們在藍色的環礁湖裡游泳和玩耍。
Then they sit on Marooner's Rock to comb their long hair.
然後他們坐在流亡者岩石上梳理他們的長髮。
They sit in the sun and laugh.

The children like the mermaids and John says, "I want to catch one! "

But Wendy stays with Peter.
但溫迪和彼得呆在一起。
They hide behind the rock.

Peter sees Tiger Lily.

She is sitting in the small boat.
她坐在小船里。
Poor Tiger Lily is a prisoner of the pirates.
可憐的老虎莉莉是海盜的俘虜。
"Let's leave her on this rock. When the sea rises, she will die!" says Smee.
「讓我們把她留在這塊石頭上。當海面升起的時候，她會死的！」斯梅說。
The two pirates laugh.
兩個海盜笑了。
It is already night and it is very dark.
已經是晚上了，天很黑。
Peter wants to save Tiger Lily and thinks of something intelligent.
彼得想救老虎莉莉，想出了一些聰明的東西。
He imitates Captain Hook's voice and says, "Cut the ropes and let her go! Do as I say, you idiots! Let her go! "
他模仿胡克船長的聲音說：「割斷繩子，放開她！ 照我說的做，白痴！放開她！」
The two pirates are amazed.
這兩個海盜很驚訝。
"Can you hear Hook's voice? " asks Smee.
「你能聽到胡克的聲音嗎？」斯梅問。
"Yes, but what can we do? " asks Starkey.
「是的，但是我們能做什麼呢？」斯塔基問。
"We must obey him and cut the ropes," says Smee.
「我們必須服從他，切斷繩子，」斯梅說。
They cut the ropes and Tiger Lily is free.
他們切斷了繩子，老虎莉莉自由了。
She quickly jumps into the water and swims away.
她迅速跳進水裡遊走了。
Captain Hook sees everything and he is furious.
胡克船長看到了一切，他非常生氣。
"That horrid Peter Pan! This time I must attack him," he says.
「那個討厭的彼得潘！這次我必須攻擊他，」他說。
He swims to the rock and fights with Peter.
他游到岩石上，和彼得打架。
It is a long fight.
這是一場漫長的戰鬥。
The Captain hurts Peter with his hook, but Peter fights courageously.
船長用鉤子傷害了彼得，但彼得勇敢地戰鬥。
At last, Peter wins the fight and Hook swims back to the Jolly Roger.
最後，彼得贏得了比賽，胡克游泳回了Jolly Roger號。
Peter is now alone on the rock with Wendy.
彼得現在和溫迪單獨在岩石上。
"The sea is rising and we are in great danger here. We must leave this rock," says Peter.
「海在上升，我們在這裡處於極大的危險之中。我們必須離開這塊石頭，」彼得說。
"Oh, Peter, I am very tired and I cannot swim or fly. "
「哦，彼得，我很累。我游不了了，也飛不了了。」
He sees a big kite with a long tail.
他看見一隻有著長尾巴的風箏。
It is flying slowly over the lagoon.
它正緩慢地飛過環礁湖。
He takes the tail of the kite and says, "Wendy, hold on to this tail and fly away with the kite.」
他拿住風箏的尾巴說：「溫迪，抓住這條尾巴，跟著風箏飛走了。」
Wendy flies away.
溫迪飛走了。
"The sea is rising. I must fly away," Peter thinks.
「海在上升。我必須飛走，」 彼得想。
When he gets home everyone is happy to see him, especially Wendy.
當他到家時，每個人見到他都很高興，尤其是溫迪。
